New aquatic center in Sainte-Adèle

Saint-Adèle

42 000 000$

The building extends from the Augustin-Norbert-Morin School in the east, to the natural crevice in the west. The architecture is heavily inspired by the ajacent mountains. The resulting building projects a resolutely modern architecture amongts a more traditional built environment as well as nature, instinctively raising the glance of the motorists from the landscape to this focal point of sports activities. The proposed construction takes advantage of the vertical terrain drop to offer entrance to the north in connection with the parking lot. The soccer field is located highe, with its own opening on the landscape, and a link with a public place on the lower south level.

The functional areas have been grouped by thematic areas:
- The winter area includes all the functions intended for exterior and interior winter activites;
- The summer area groups the functions related to the water basins;
- The spring area, meanwhile, brings together public and functional spacesfor sports equipment. It all opens onto the unique landscape of the Laurentians, both wooded and mountainous.

The materials have been carefully chosen to integrate as well as stand out from the landscape.

Le projet a été conçu par le consortium CLD3 architectes* et Bilodeau Baril Leeming architecte.
